Muskaan Scholarship – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1What is Muskaan Scholarship?

Muskaan Scholarship is a CSR initiative by Valvoline and Cummins. Under this initiative, scholarships are provided to children of drivers (holding valid HMV, LMV, AWT, ARWT, or LMVT licenses) or mechanics, as well as students from families with an annual income below ₹8 lakhs.

A due diligence and selection process is conducted before awarding scholarships.

Q2Who is eligible to apply?

Applicants must:
  • Be currently studying in Grades 9 to 12.
  • Have scored at least 60% marks in the previous academic year.
  • Have a parent who is a driver or mechanic, or belong to a family with annual income below ₹8 lakhs.
  • Be domiciled in one of the following states/UTs:
    • Delhi
    • Haryana
    • Punjab
    • Rajasthan
    • Uttar Pradesh
    • Himachal Pradesh
    • Uttarakhand
    • Jammu & Kashmir
    • Chandigarh
    • Ladakh
    • Maharashtra
    • Gujarat
    • Goa
    • Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu
Not Eligible:
  • Children of employees of Valvoline Cummins Pvt. Ltd.
  • Children of employees of Synergie ITCI.

Q3Are students enrolled in diploma courses or those who passed Class XII in previous years eligible?

No.

Only students studying in Classes 9 to 12 during the current academic year are eligible to apply.

Q4What is the application process?

Step 1

Step 2

Fill out the application form and upload all required documents.

Step 3

Submit the application successfully.

Step 4

Applications and documents will be screened by the team.

Step 5

Shortlisted students will be contacted for interviews.

Step 6

Online or offline interviews will be conducted by Synergie ITCI and Valvoline Cummins Pvt. Ltd.

Step 7

Selected students will be informed through WhatsApp messages and phone calls.

Q5What benefits will selected students receive?

Selected students can receive:
  • Scholarship support of up to ₹12,000 for:
    • School fees
    • Uniforms
    • Books
    • Study materials
  • Mentorship and career guidance support for students in Classes 11 and 12.
  • Laptops and tablets for students demonstrating outstanding academic performance.
  • Full engineering scholarships (tuition and examination fees) after Class 12 for 5 selected scholars, based on an aptitude test.

Q6Do I have to pay any application fee?

No.

Participation in the scholarship program is completely free of cost.

Q8What is the selection process?

  1. Applications are reviewed for eligibility.
  2. Submitted documents are verified and scrutinized.
  3. Applicants may be contacted for clarification or additional documents.
  4. Shortlisted students attend an online or offline interview.
  5. Final selection is based on the overall evaluation process.
Scholarship Disbursement
  • This is a reimbursement-based scholarship.
  • Students can claim expenses up to ₹12,000.
  • The amount reimbursed depends on the bills and supporting documents submitted.
  • Approved scholarship amounts will be transferred directly to the student's bank account.

Q10What documents are required?

1. Student Photograph
  • Photograph should not be older than six months.
  • Upload a recent and clear photograph.
2. Proof of Parent's Profession
A. Driver Parent

Upload clear front and back photographs of the parent’s:

  • LMV License
  • HMV License
  • AWT License
  • ARWT License
Note:
  • Upload the parent's license only.
  • Two-wheeler licenses are not accepted.
B. Mechanic Parent

Submit a self-declaration containing:

  • Shop/Employer Name
  • Address
  • Contact Number
C. Low-Income Family (Below ₹8 Lakhs)

Provide a self-declaration of annual family income in the application form.

3. Proof of Current Enrollment

Upload proof of enrollment for the current academic session 2026-2027.

Accepted documents include:

  • School/College ID Card
  • Bonafide Certificate

The document should clearly show:

  • Student Name
  • Grade/Class
  • Academic Session
  • School/College Name
  • School/College Address
4. Previous Academic Year Marksheet

Upload the final marksheet issued by the school/college.

Requirements:

  • Must contain school stamp and signature.
  • Online results must be attested by the institution.
  • Multiple pages should be merged into a single PDF before uploading.
5. Proof of Identity

Upload a valid Aadhaar Card issued by the Government of India.

6. Educational Expense Documents
A. School Fee Receipt
  • Must be signed and stamped by the school.
  • Should belong to the current academic year.
B. Uniform Receipt
  • GST invoice preferred.
  • If GST invoice is unavailable, upload a cash memo containing:
    • Shop Name
    • Address
    • Contact Number
    • Signature and Stamp
C. Book Receipt
  • GST invoice preferred.
  • Otherwise, provide a cash memo with complete shop details and stamp.
D. Stationery Receipt
  • GST invoice preferred.
  • Cash memo with shop details and stamp is also acceptable.
7. Applicant’s Bank Details

Applicants must provide their own bank account details.

Parent's bank account details will not be accepted.

The uploaded document should clearly display:

  • Student Name
  • Account Number
  • IFSC Code
